Utility-Scale Solar Power
eSolar develops cost-effective commercial-scale Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) projects based on mass-manufactured components designed for rapid construction, uniform modularity … … and unlimited scalability. The eSolar approach marries a low-impact, pre-fabricated design with patent-pending computer software and elegant engineering solutions to provide solar electricity ranging from 46 MW to over 500 MW. The eSolar solution delivers cost-competitive solar energy in response to growing worldwide demands. How Our System …
The eSolar Solution Pre-fabric ated Form Factor A dual-axis heliostat is the basic element of the eSolar solution. By designing a small commercial mirror, eSolar has revolutionized the CSP industry. eSolar heliostats minimize a variety of costs. By leveraging established commercial suppliers to mass-manufacture thousands of heliostats, eSolar realizes economy-of-scale benefits at much smaller power plant sizes than traditional solar generation technologies. Heliostats are designed for pre-assembly at the factory and to fit efficiently into shipping containers to reduce transportation costs and on-site labor. Rapid Deployment eSolar has designed a new solar field layout that minimizes installation time and cost. By employing a repeating structure and a revolutionary calibration system, eSolar power plants eliminate the need for high-precision surveying, delicate installation, and individual alignment of mirrors. Minimal skilled labor is needed to build the solar field, allowing for mirror deployment efficiencies that scale with project size and deadlines. From permitting to construction, plants come on line quickly to meet customer needs. Unlimited Scalability eSolar’s pre-fabricated, scalable power plant architecture enables custom built facilities with generation capacities from 46 MW to over 500 MW with prices that are competitive with fossil fuels. eSolar constructs power plants using a tiered delivery model. Our power plants are structured on a 46 MW base unit, called a “power unit.” An eSolar power unit consists of several thermal receiver towers situated on a footprint of approximately 200 acres [80 hectares], each with a field of dual-axis heliostat mirrors, and a central power block with steam turbine and generator. 46 MW power units can be replicated as many times as necessary to fit specific power requirements.
