NATIONAL AMBIENT AIR QUALITY STANDARDS

The USEPA has classified six different substances as “criteria pollutants” due to their potential to harm human health and the environment: carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, sulfur dioxide, and inhalable particulate matter. In order to protect public health, the USEPA has established the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), which set “maximum allowable levels” for each pollutant. (more…)

Study on Air Quality

Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a Regional Technical Assistance Project (RETA 5937) to assist member countries in the development of strategies and plans to reduce vehicle emissions. RETA activities in Indonesia supported the formulation of an Integrate Vehicle Emission Reduction Action Plan for Jakarta. As part of the RETA-5937, an integrated Vehicle Emission Reduction Strategy (IVERS) workshop was organized in October 2001 to ensure broad-based involvement of all stake holders in drafting the Action Plan.
