Control System Integration SC-4

Has to be integrated with other GANMVL parts video/audio system virtual instruments Access to all parameters of the control system (r/w) Has to use existing control system applications Access control for different users Remote maintenance Remote operation Remote observation Local users ‘Some’ independence of the underlying control system Web Services used for the TTF DAQ Project VNC Mailing List (more…)

Information Survivability Control Systems

We address the dependence of critical infrastructures-including electric power, telecommunications, finance and transportation- on vulnerable information systems. Our approach is based on the notion of control systems. We envision hierarchical, adaptive, multiple model, discrete-state distributed control systems to monitor infrastructure information systems and respond to disruptions (e.g., security attacks) (more…)

Impact Assessment of the Export Control System (ECS)

What is the problem under consideration? Why is government intervention necessary? The implementation of the Export Control System (ECS) is required by EU law. In recognition of the increased security threat globally, the Security Amendment to the Community Customs Code requires Member States to introduce systems capable of handling pre-arrival (imports) and pre-departure (exports) (more…)

SKYPARKS CONTROL SYSTEM

The Skyparks Robotic Parking System (SRPS) is controlled and monitored by software known as the Skyparks Control System (SCS) which can be tailored to suit any site-specific requirements. The SCS has been designed with three modes of operation to allow for the greatest flexibility: AUTO MODE The vast majority of the time the SCS is in Auto Mode. In this mode the car park runs automatically and there (more…)

CONTROL SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

5.1 FIRMWARE UPGRADES TO 2009 CONTROL SYSTEM COMPONENTS The “as-shipped” Driver Station and cRIO require firmware upgrades before they can be used beyond the “benchtop test” configuration. This section details the procedure for upgrading the Driver Station and cRIO. Please update both Driver Station and cRIO as this is required for proper operation. 5.1.1 Update Firmware on Driver Station (more…)

Control System Design Considerations

The following is Part 1 of a four-part series of articles on Control System Design that can act as a general guide to the specification, design and installation of automated control systems. The information and references are presented in a logical order that will take you from the skills required to recognize an operation or process suited for automating, to tips on setting up a program, to maintaining the control system. (more…)

Control Systems Security Center Common Control System Vulnerability

The Control Systems Security Center (CSSC) and National SCADA Test Bed (NSTB) programs have discovered a vulnerability common to control systems in all sectors that allows an attacker to penetrate most control systems, spoof the operator, and gain full control of targeted system elements. This vulnerability has been identified on several systems that have been evaluated at INL, and in each case a 100% (more…)

Control System Upgrade Kit BEAMLOGIX

PCT Engineered Systems has responded to our customer’s requests and developed the BeamLogix control system upgrade kit for BroadBeam® electron beam processors. The original custom circuit boards are replaced by a PLC-based control system. An enhanced operator interface station is also provided as part of the kit. The new controls and operator screen are mounted in a compact, free-standing enclosure. (more…)

Guide to Industrial Control Systems Security

1. Introduction 1.1 Authority The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) developed this document in furtherance of its statutory responsibilities under the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002, Public Law 107-347 and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7 (HSPD-7) of 2003. NIST is responsible for developing standards and guidelines, including minimum requirements, for providing adequate information security for all agency operations (more…)
