Overclocking the Eee is the best way to improve its performance. Many people add extra RAM, faster RAM (which is a waste of time, more on this later), and cut down their OSs (see here ) in order to squeeze every last bit of processing power available. Since 2008 the EEEPC is my travelling deck, starting with my first journey in Indonesia1. instruction for connecting projector with a laptop. 2004 FCPE When connecting a laptop to LCD projector or any external display device there are fifteen steps that you should follow. 1. Position Laptop and projector where it would project the best quality picture and does not obstruct anyone. 2. Plug the laptop and projector into a power source. 3. Turn on the laptop 4. Turn the projector on (this ay take a while, the projector lamp needs to warmed up) 5. The projector should say “NO SIGNAL” – don’t panic. 6. Locate the “14 pin” cable supplied with the projector. – see photo A1 7. Locate the LCD output on the back of the laptop — See picture A2 8. Plug the “14 pin” cable into the laptop and tighten screws – see picture A3 9. Plug the other end of the “14 pin” cable into the projector “RGB INPUT” and tighten screws – see picture A3a and A3b hottma instruction for connecting projector with a laptop. 2004 FCPE 10. The projector will remain blank but the “no signal” will go way, don’t worry. 11. Locate the FN key – see pictureA4 The CRT/LCD key (usually it is one of the function key e.g. F8 – see picture A5. (Function keys may vary but the CRT/LCD is standard). 12. Hold down the FN key and press the CRT/LCD(give it time to switch over) 13. Step 12 can be repeated to have the projector and the laptop to show simultaneous or to switch back to the laptop screen only. 14. If the projector still does not show you laptop’s image and all these steps are followed carefully, toggle with the wires to check if they are loose. 15. If the projector is a multi- ource projector (a projector that can connect to a VCR or other video output devices), keep pressing the input selector until the projector reads RGB and it should show content from the laptop. 16. If there is no input selector switch browse the menu options and select RGB for your input. Laptop connections are usually setup on the lectern in the front of the Auditorium. First, activate the panel(touch the screen), select “Video Projector Controls” turn on the video projector Second, connect the VGA, audio and network lines located on the lectern Third, turn on your laptop. Wait for boot up, login using your full context (e.g. .doej.itg.admin.hill.ohsu). Fourth, exit from the current touch panel screen by pressing “EXIT”. Now select “Lap” on the touch panel screen.
