Remove rear seat (if necessary). 2. Turn T-handle counterclockwise until free of the turnbuckle. Discard T-handle. 3. Remove plastic guide. 4. Remove decal plate and turn over so that the decal is facing down. Reinstall decal plate on floor mounted release bracket. 5. Reinstall plastic guide. 6. Install rear seat (if removed). From underside of vehicle, remove turnbuckle and release cable from floor mounted release bracket (below rear seat). Cut cable as shown in Figure 1. 8. Loosen jam nuts at the cable mounting bracket (at actuator). See Figure 2. 9. Remove turnbuckle from actuator motor threaded stud. 10. Remove cable mounting bracket. 11. Cut release cable as shown in Figure 2. Discard cable. The manual release cable will be disconnected from the actuator during replacement procedures (disabling the manual release feature). Remove tire carrier and actuator motor cover, located in the rear hatch area. See Photos A and B. 8. Loosen jam nuts at the cable mounting bracket. See Figure 4. 9. Remove turnbuckle from actuator motor threaded stud. 10. Remove cable mounting bracket. 11. Cut off cable as shown in Figure 4. Discard. 12. Reinstall actuator motor cover and tire carrier.
