From [21] the Series 40 Buick was rushed into production mid season in1934. Production began May 12 1934. Parts were borrowed from Chevrolet and Pontiac motor divisions to accomplish this. Mechanical brakes were discontinued after 1935. Reference [21] indicates that there were a number of problems with the 34 series 40 Buick that were fixed in 1935.
